The safety of our juniors (and seniors) is always our first priority. As well as the head coach (Andy) and assistant coach (Barry) we have nine other people who have undergone the British Judo Association's "safeguarding and protection of children" training and "Time to Listen" training recommended by the NSPCC. Our club welfare officers - Alicia, Keri, Dan, Darek, Glenn, Mark, Matt, Michael and Simon are all regular attenders at the club - some on the mat and some watching from the sidelines as parents. All are available if you want to talk about a concern or if you can see a way that safeguarding could be improved. We welcome any approach and any concerns are treated sensitively and discretely - with the obvious proviso that we will always discuss concerns with the safeguarding committee and where necessary we will refer onward appropriately.

Safeguarding and Child Protection

We follow the British Judo Association's safeguarding and child protection policies.

For any questions regarding safeguarding standards in British Judo please refer to the British Judo Association's safeguarding pages.

If you wish to report a concern we would hope you felt able to speak to one of the coaches or club welfare officers. If not, the British Judo Association support reporting concerns via their website.
