Monday Beginners', Basics and Fundamentals

Monday February 3rd 2025 at 6pm

Big numbers on our sessions tonight! First up was beginners and fundamentals with Ruby. The focus was on Ashi-waza (foot/leg techniques). The hour swept by - pun intended.

Judokas of the night were Freya and Ivan for the second week running. Freya shows great enthusiasm and a willingness to try everything. Ivan quietly gets on with his judo, he’s always working hard and effectively. Overall judoka of the night was Franklin who made a great impression and effort in his first class with us.

We do more than just the fundamentals class though. This week Josh took our Monday evening session through some combinations before finishing with a little ne-waza randori (groundwork sparring). In case you didn’t know judo has a lot of groundwork such as pins, armlocks, chokes and strangles.

Join us from £5 per session or £40 per month for unlimited sessions.

Female only class launching soon.

Message us for all enquiries.

Thursday Beginners', Basics and Fundamentals

Thursday February 6th 2025 at 6:30pm

We are looking at ashi-waza across all sessions this month.

Our fundamentals session tonight finished off some work we had been doing on ko-uchi-gari and o-uchi-gari, then started to work on a few bits extra.

The hour went by quickly with a lot of attention on footwork and movement.

Hannah and Cassie shared judoka of the night, their focus was brilliant and they worked hard to improve their technique with every repetition. Excellent examples to their teammates at Miramar.

We have sessions running all week suited to all abilities. Pay either £5 per session or £40 per month for unlimited sessions!

Watch this space for updates on our mat extension, our soon to launch women’s session and a big event we’re planning for March.
